Diabetes is one of the largest health challenges facing the UK today. Diabetes UK is the country’s largest charity devoted to the care, treatment and improvement of the quality of life for people with diabetes.

We are looking for an experienced manager to head up our new Healthcare Professional Engagement team and lead the support and liaison programmes to promote the work of Diabetes UK and the issues affecting people with diabetes with healthcare professionals.

We are looking for someone with strong relationship management skills who is confident, proactive and excited by the prospect of taking on a huge challenge. You’ll build up relationships with specialist and non-specialist healthcare professionals, making sure everyone is collaborating to push through best practice in diabetes care. Whilst you’re not necessarily an expert in the condition, you’ll bring to the table a sound understanding of the health service (perhaps gained from an NHS management role), the capacity to increase our membership and an ability to negotiate solutions between divergent or disengaged groups.

This is a wide and varied role. It’s a chance to have a huge impact on one of the biggest problems in UK healthcare. The successful candidate will have experience of building and managing relationships with healthcare professionals working within the NHS, programme management, and setting and implementing strategy within Diabetes UK to deliver clear outcomes. Experience of working with professional bodies would be an advantage.

You will be organised with an attention to detail and the ability to work under your own initiative, ensuring accuracy and delivery to tight deadlines. Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills are required, together with the ability to work proactively with, and influence, both internal and external audiences.

In return, we provide Group Personal Pension scheme, Childcare Voucher scheme, flexi-time working, Life Assurance/Death in Service Benefits, enhanced Annual Leave entitlement and more.
